The police on Thursday arrested two persons under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 for sexually harassing minor girls in separate incidents in Mettur, and Tiruchengode.
The police aid that Pachiappan (65) of Kurumbanur village, near Kolathur, running a petty shop, sexually abused a 13-year-old girl who came to his shop. On a complaint preferred by the father of the girl, the Mettur All Women Police Station personnel arrested him.
In another incident, Nachimuthu (45) of Karuveppampatti, near Tiruchengode, harassed a Standard IV student taking her to forest area. On hearing the cries of the girl, villagers caught hold of Nachimuthu.
