Students of Ganga Institute of Health Sciences displayed placards on road safety on Avanashi Road during the peak hour recently.

Displaying posters and placards, over 200 students and faculty members of the Ganga Institute of Health Sciences took part in a campaign on six traffic signals along Avanashi Road recently to create awareness on road safety.

The campaign was part of ‘Uyir’, a people’s movement against road accidents. The vision of the project was to attain the target zero accidents.

The students and faculty members of the Ganga Institute of Health Sciences joined hands to talk to passers-by on road safety and the placards carried positive quotes which reinforces the road safety. The team stood up in the signals throughout the peak hours of traffic from 8 to 10 a.m. and again from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in a bid to reach out to maximum motorists.

The event was highlighted by appreciating the by-passers, who correctly followed the traffic rules, by offering sweets. Also, the positive messages in a card were given to those non-compliant drivers in a bid to make abide traffic rules.
