Suez Projects Private Limited that is executing the 24x7 drinking water distribution improvement project on behalf of Coimbatore Corporation has started displaying boards at places where it is digging roads.

According to sources, the company has placed the boards on the barricades that is placed on both ends of the stretch of the roads it has dug to lay pipeline. On each of the boards, it mentions the name of the road, the date of commencement of the work and the expected date of completion.

Beneath the details, the company has also displayed a WhatsApp number – 98650-60708 – for the members of the public to call to report leak or damage to pipeline.

The sources say that the members of the public messaging to the aforementioned number should click and send a picture of the problem, the location and if required the house service connection number.

At present, the company has five pairs of such boards to be placed at as many work sites. Once the company expands the work area, it will increase the boards. But that does not mean that the residents of the old city area where the Suez is yet to begin work cannot call the number, the sources say and add that they may very well use the number to report water supply issues.

Meanwhile, the company has completed laying pipeline for 18 km in R.S. Puram. The company is to lay pipeline for 42 km in the area.

Suez Projects Private Limited has taken up the work to replace almost all water supply pipelines in the old city area of 60 wards, which it will execute within a four-year period and then take care of maintenance for 21 years.
