Members of the Social Democratic Party of India staged a demonstration here on Saturday against the amendments the Central Government had proposed to the Land Acquisition Bill and taking the ordinance route to enforce the same.
Led by Coimbatore Zonal president S. Musthafa and State vice president of the trade union Meen Karim, the members formed a human chain from Athupalam. The party had been staging demonstrations across the State from June 1 and would continue to hold various forms of protest ill June 15.
