The Coimbatore Spastic Trust along with Coimbatore Metropolitan Ladies Circle 23 inaugurated Project Blue Rock – a vocational training centre for the mentally challenged at Perianaickenpalayam.

It is a non-profitable charitable organisation with an aim to provide community based rehabilitation, physical therapy, medical intervention and skill based training for mentally challenged children and counselling for their families. Training will be given in fields of horticulture and garden maintenance, catering and kitchen maintenance, guest relations, bed making and maintenance of guest rooms. In addition, the Blue Rock centre will also serve as a place for hosting conferences, retreats, workshops, seminars and for providing learning out of classroom experience.

This year, with the national theme ‘Prerana’, Ladies Circle India has reached out to help and improve the quality of life of mentally and physically challenged children all over India.
