The third edition of Bosch Coimbatore Run 2015 on Sunday had about 2,500 participants, including students and family members of Bosch employees.
The funds raised from the run would go towards environmental projects in the city.
Prizes were given away to winners in the following categories: 10 km run (open category, Bosch category above 40 years and Bosch category below 40 years)), five km run (open category, Bosch category above 40 years and Bosch category below 40 years).
Flagged off
District Collector Archana Patnaik flagged off the run.
At a press meet held here on Sunday, the Coimbatore centre head of Bosch T.V. Sriram handed over the proceeds from the run to the secretary of Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC) R. Raveendran.
The proceeds from the last two editions of the run went towards developing parks and green space in the city.
According to Mr. Sriram, afforestation projects have been taken up at Podanur, AG Pudur and GV Residency.
Playground
Apart from the park at Gandhimanagar, a playground has been developed for the blind school. “We are sure to continue giving back quality and increased support to the city,” he said.
