Pilgrim dies in Vellingiri hills

A 55-year-old man from Tiruppur died during his pilgrimage to the shrine at Vellingiri hills late on Friday.

The police have identified the deceased as Rangasamy, a native of Palladam. They said that Rangasamy had come for the pilgrimage with his son Sivasankar and a few others.

He suffered breathlessness and died when the team reached the seventh hill en route to the shrine around 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Alandurai police said that no case has been registered in connection with the death as the family did not have any complaint.
