Normal train services restored

Trains originating, terminating and passing through Coimbatore junction resumed normal operations after three days from Monday.

Several trains were cancelled fully and some long distance trains were diverted in an alternate route made the passengers to wait mid-way for long hours due to the major engineering and tracking work undertaken at Arakkonam yard from Saturday.

The track works undertaken at Arakkonam was over on Sunday afternoon. In spite of this, few trains were rescheduled on Monday (May 7) due to the delayed running of pairing trains.

Coimbatore-Salem passenger would be terminated at Erode, as minor engineering work is going on at Veerapandi till May 20, railway sources here has said.
