Nature camp for school students

Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, the Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Nature Conservation Society recently conducted a nature camp for 62 students and staff of Nikitha International School at MTR.

A press release says that S. Arokiyasamy, Forest Range Officer, who welcomed the students and staff, spoke about conservation of forests and wildlife.

Jalaluddin, president, NCS, spoke on the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act and asked the student-participants to create awareness on wildlife protection among the members of the public.

Wildlife Veterinary Officer, MTR, Vijayaraghavan, spoke on the cultural history of Indian wildlife and how respecting and worshipping wildlife is part of the Indian culture.

Later, the organisers took the students and staff on a bird watching trip.
