MSME outreach meet held

About 200 entrepreneurs, mainly from electrical and agricultural implements industry, took part

Coimbatore District lead bank on Friday organised an entrepreneurs meet here as part of the 100-day, 100 district MSME support and outreach programme launched by the Prime Minister in November last year.

The lead bank manager S. Venkataramanan said about 200 entrepreneurs, mainly in electrical and agricultural implements industry, took part. The Central Government has identified these two sectors for focus in Coimbatore district.

Manish Gupta, Director from the Department of Financial Services, Union Ministry of Finance, addressed the participants and interacted with them on Friday on issued faced by the MSMEs.

He also disbursed 76 loans worth ₹40.15 crore under MUDRA, Stand Up India, and MSME schemes.

The loans were extended by 16 banks. Mr. Gupta had a meeting with bankers and other stakeholders here on Thursday. General Manager of Canara Bank Abdul Azeez and president of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, V. Lakshminarayanasamy, also took part.
