Lok Adalat held

A total of 4,196 cases and a sum of ₹ 23.66 crore were settled in the Lok Adalat held at the Combined Court Complex in Coimbatore on Saturday. The adalat was held under the supervision of Principal District Judge and the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) R. Sakthivel and DLSA secretary and sub-judge N. Sharmila.

In one of the cases settled, the Food Corporation of India handed over cheque worth ₹ 23.21 lakh to two persons namely Ramakrishnan and Gopalakrishnan in a land related case that was pending before a court.

10,867 cases

As many as 10,867 cases – transport disputes, petty crimes, cheque fraud, motor vehicle accidents, civil disputes, labour disputes and pre-litigation cases - were considered at the adalat.
