Nehru Air Rifle Academy and Swarga Foundation have joined hands to offer free air rifle training for differently abled persons. The initiative was launched on Saturday.
A release from Swarga Foundation said that people with disabilities will be given free training in shooting with air rifle and pistol.
“This sport improve the upper body strength, focus, balance and coordination. This is also an opportunity to build courage and confidence in people with disabilities,” said the release.
Nehru Air Rifle Academy at Kuniamuthur has shooting range of 15,000 sq.ft. area with fully automated equipment. Ten trainees will be allowed to take training in a single batch. The shooting range is also wheelchair friendly. P. Krishnakumar, CEO and secretary of Nehru Group of Institutions, J. Swarnalatha and T. S. Guruprasad, Founders of Swarga Foundation, took part in the inauguration of the free training programme.
