Elephant calf reunited with herd in Gudalur

A newly-born elephant calf, that was found near Glenrock in Gudalur, was reunited with its herd by Forest Department staff on Wednesday.

According to officials, the animal was found abandoned in the area, and a search was launched. They found a herd of elephants nearby with a lactating mother and released it. The calf was accepted by the herd.
