The district administration is getting ready to conduct the local body elections, said The Nilgiris District Collector and District Election Officer Archana Patnaik while releasing the list of voters in the district.
The total number of voters was 4,84,757, including 2,43,314 women.
While 2,16,797 were rural voters the remaining were urban. The total number of polling stations would be 812 in the district, she said adding that 410 would be located in rural areas.
Voters would elect four municipal chairmen and 11 town panchayat chairmen, apart from 36 councillors in Udhagamandalam, 30 in Coonoor, 21 in Gudalur, 21 in Nelliyalam and 186 in the town panchayats.
While 35 panchayat presidents would be chosen, 393 panchayat ward members,59 panchayat union ward members and six district panchayat ward members would be elected.
