Draft electoral rolls released

District Collector T.N. Hariharan on Tuesday released the draft electoral rolls of ten Assembly constituencies in the district.

Kavundampalayam has the highest number of voters, and Valparai the lowest.

According to the rolls, there are 28,61,536 voters in the district — 14,20,408 men, 14,40,845 women, and 283 belonging to the third gender.

Draft electoral rolls will be available at the polling stations, taluk offices, revenue divisional offices and corporation zonal and municipal offices till October 31.

Those who want to include, delete names or make corrections in the electoral rolls could apply for the same during the period.

A special camp will be held on October 8 and 22 (both Sundays) at polling stations to enable voters to make necessary changes, if any.

The number of voters in various assembly constituencies in the district is as follows: Mettuppalayam: 2,75,661; Sulur: 2,89,261; Kavundampalayam: 4,18,765; Coimbatore North: 3,10,255; Thondamuthur: 3,06,204; Coimbatore South: 2,44,089 voters: Singanallur: 3,07,484; Kinathukkadvu: 2,95,859; Pollachi: 2,25,670; Valparai: 1,98,288.
