Alongside demand for luxury cars, the demand is on the rise for used cars too.

Sales

At the launch of Audi Q3 with refreshed design and technical innovations on Saturday, chief executive officer (CEO), Audi Coimbatore, S.K. Arun said that their used car department started last calendar year had sold 63 vehicles so far.

“This includes 36 in 2014 and 27 cars so far this year,” he added. He said that their showroom in Coimbatore sold 163 luxury cars in 2012-13, 250 in 2013-14 and 266 in 2014-15.

With the unveiling of their sales-cum-service outlet in Madurai about a month ago, he expected sale of the luxury cars to go up this year.

Buyback scheme

He said that they also recently launched a buy back scheme wherein Audi cars were bought back in three years after it hit the road – at 55 per cent of the ex-showroom price at the time of sale.

Mr. Arun said that the buyback contract was extended for the fourth and fifth years too but the buyback price dropped to 45 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively.

Variants

Talking about Q3, he claimed that the vehicle accounted for 75 per cent share of the compact SUV segment.

Mr. Arun said that the new Audi Q3 came in three variants – Sport, Premium and Premium Plus – that came with an ex-showroom price from Rs. 29.74 lakh to Rs. 38.4 lakh.
