Cookery contest on July 7

Prelims being conducted in 15 locations

Applications are invited from cooking enthusiasts in Salem for The Hindu Group Our State Our Taste Cookery Competition Season 2 to be held on July 7 at Hotel Grand Estancia here.

To celebrate the versatility of Tamil Cuisine and to identify a master chef, the contest is being held in two stages. The prelims are being conducted in 15 locations and the grand finale would be held in Chennai in August. A judging panel led by knowledge partner Chef Damu will select three best chefs from each city for the grand finale in Chennai.

Participants should cook their favourite dish that represents the flavour of Tamil Nadu at home and bring it to the venue, Hotel Grand Estancia. The dish could be vegetarian or non-vegetarian, either starters, main course, snacks or dessert.

Participants can gain extra points by cooking their dishes using RKG Ghee, Savorit, Naga food products, Fortune foods and by bringing its wrappers to the venue. The top three winners in the finale would win cash prizes totalling ₹2 lakh. Regional toppers would take home Vidiem products worth ₹10,000 for first prize, ₹6,000 for second prize and ₹4000 for third prize.
