Official booth slips that the Election Commission of India will distribute through the district administration will have a map printed on it to help voters identify their booths.

Wondering where your polling booth is? Just turn over the booth slip the Election Commission of India has given you through the district administration. You'll find a map that guides you to the polling booth, as it comes with an image of map showing the booth location.

The reverse side of the slip also displays the name and phone number of the booth-level officer for voters to reach him or her for assistance.

Officials in the district administration say this is for the first time the Commission has come out with such a slip and it is not the Coimbatore administration's innovation.

“We, at the administration, merely print the booth slips as per electoral rolls using the software that the Commission has given.”

The map for each voter in a part of the electoral rolls will be the same and so will it be for voters in a few other parts as well as they will share the same polling centre.

The officials also say that this time the Commission has increased the size of the booth slip – each slip will be close to the 'A5' size. As a result the photograph of the voter will also be bigger.
