A club for cats in Coimbatore

It was launched to ensure the well-being of cats and to guide cat lovers.

Coimbatore now has a club for cats - Coimbatore Cattery Club - a registered organisation and affiliated to the Alliance of Cat Fanciers.

Launched on Sunday, the club will organise cat shows and events of importance. Cat lovers, breeders, and traders took part in the launch. Cat owners can become members of the club. To start with it has 11 members. According to B. Prathap, president of the Club, it is launched to ensure the well-being of cats and to guide cat lovers. There was a display of five cats on Sunday and Sudhakar Katikineni, a cat expert, inaugurated the club. Annie Carroll is the Club’s secretary, K. Reegan, joint secretary, and J. Prathipa, the treasurer.
