People throng tourist spots on Kannum Pongal

Parks and embankments of dams and rivers in the district witnessed heavy crowd celebrating Kaanum Pongal that marks culmination of the four-day festivities.

Family members were found wishing one another and exchanging gifts. After duration of chatting and playing, they sat down for lunch brought from home.

At the level of individual households, family members joined to feed birds. Kolams depicting sun were drawn in front of houses. Women offered prayers for the well-being of their brothers and their prosperity.
