157 new COVID-19 cases in Coimbatore district

Coimbatore district reported 157 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.  The Health Department said that 573 persons recovered from the disease and the district had 2,772 active cases on Saturday. The toll increased to 2,611 after two more persons from Coimbatore died of COVID-19.  The district had a test positivity rate of 3.4 % on Friday.

Tiruppur district reported 46 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The toll remained at 1,051. The district had 768 active cases and 172 patients from the district recovered from COVID-19.

In the Nilgiris, 24 persons tested positive and the total number of cases reported in the district so far stood at 41,809. The toll stood at 226, while 348 people are undergoing treatment.
