> 1. SC stays Uttarakhand HC judgement quashing President's Rule

The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Uttarakhand High Court judgement that quashed the declaration of President's Rule in the State till April 27. Attorney-General Mukul Rohatgi assured the SC that President's Rule will not be revoked and that BJP would not form the government in Uttarakhand till April 27.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur on Thursday found himself in the eye of a storm after he was caught on camera touching a woman “inappropriately”. The Minister claimed “there is no truth in the clipping” and that he was directing women BJP workers to board a bus.

> 3. ‘How will Dr Kanhaiya treat his patients?’

“We know that he (Kanhaiya Kumar) is pursuing his PhD from JNU and he is threatening to break the nation to pieces. How can a person like him serve the patients who will approach him after he becomes a doctor?” asked Niranjan Pal of the Veer Sena, which is part of a group of right wing organisations which have vowed to stop Mr. Kumar from addressing a crowd in Mumbai on April 23.

> 4. Chennai sizzles at 40 degree Celsius

Chennai sizzled on Friday as the temperature in the city crossed 40 degree Celsius, a first for the month of April since 2006. Officials from the Met department said that the Nungambakkam station recorded a high of 40.8 degree Celsius and Meenambakkam, 41.8 degree Celsius.
