The Patel community is set to start second phase of its agitation demanding OBC status and reservation in government jobs and educational institutions.

The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) led by 22-year-old Hardik Patel has announced that the second phase would be launched from the diamond city of Surat on Tuesday.

On his return from a visit to Delhi where he met Gurjar leaders in an attempt to forge a national alliance with communities seeking similar benefits, Mr. Patel told journalists in Ahmedabad that the next phase would focus on smaller towns and villages.
