Well-known UK-based florist, Jo Moody will be in Bengaluru to conduct a flower demonstration and workshop. The florist, whose love for flowers showcases how creative and diverse a career in floristry could be, is currently in India for the launch of La Fleur, an enterprise that will put fresh flowers on shelves at supermarkets. “We are making flowers more accessible,” says Hariharan Subramanian, CEO of La Fleur.

“With over 15 years of experience in the horticultural industry, including teaching floristry at Hadlow College in Kent, Moody has helped develop bouquets for major high street retailers in the UK and brings her love for fabulous flowers to the fore at La Fleur too,” adds Subramanian.

Jo will touch on the quality, design, freshness and types of bouquets one can make during the demonstration. “At India's flori-culture market, La Fleur bouquets will be made with locally-grown flowers sourced directly from Indian growers. I cannot wait to work with all of these native, colourful varieties,” says Jo ahead of the event.

Jo has chosen a wide variety of flowers such as roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, oriental lilies, Asiatic lilies, gerberas, gypsophilia, statice, eucalyptus orchids, birds of paradise as well as foliage. “I will show you how to select the right blooms and match and pair them. I will also share tips on caring for the blooms and show you how to hand-tie a bouquet,” she says.

Numerous design elements set apart La Fleur bouquets from the ones traditionally sold by street-side vendors, says Subramanaim. The use of temperature-controlled trucks ensures these flowers stay fresh for longer and the addition of flower food to all La Fleur bouquets increases their vase life.

“Each La Fleur bouquet is hand-tied for that perfect personal touch and is wrapped in high-quality recycled paper,” he says.

Priced by category, the La Fleur range starts at ₹ 250 per bouquet, followed by monoline bouquets at ₹ 360, mixed bouquets at ₹ 585 and premium ones at ₹ 920. While monoline bouquets feature a single type of flower (such as a dozen roses), mixed bouquets offer a variety of flowers along with fillers.
