“I did not know about learning disabilities till 2013 when my son failed his Std XII pre-board exams,” says Saiju Aravind, founder of EduBrisk Knowledge Solutions, a brain-friendly teaching-learning programme based in Kochi. A commander in the Navy till 2008, he was also a scientist with the Defence Research Development Organisation. “I wanted to help my son, so I quit my job, took Montessori training and started to read on Neuroscience. After I started working with my son, he not only passed his board exams, but also secured the 25th rank in the Kerala Law Entrance Exam.”
Saiju started EduBrisk Knowledge Solutions in 2014. “We have tied up with around 100 schools in India, The UAE, Qatar, Oman and Malaysia. We train not only the students but also the teachers using different methods like interactive, visual, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and robotics. Everyone’s brain is designed to learn in a particular way. What works for one may not work for another.”

Saiju says that it is a step-by-step process in which the children are exposed to multiple learning techniques and allowed to find out what is best for them. “The programme that we offer is both inclusive and integrated, which means we take into consideration the progress of all students: high and low achievers. We also try to bring in matter from different subjects in a class. For example, we might bring an example from a biology lesson into the chemistry class.”
The 49 year old has many success stories to share. He has fond memories of Sidharth who came to him for help in 2016. “He failed in class IX and was expelled from his school. His parents were worried. I gave him training on logic, memory and concentration for three months and he completed his class X board exams with 78%. I felt proud.”
Edubrisk Knowledge Solutions is looking to partner with schools in Coimbatore.
