Across the country, pop-ups have changed the way we shop. Brands like Chumbak and Nimish Shah’s label Shift have garnered a large following by exhibiting at such shows. As more designers travel to different cities to showcase their work, consumers are spoilt for choice. Shahin Ansari, co-founder of Chennai-based multi-designer store Maalgadi, says, “Such pop-ups give people an opportunity to experiment with their wardrobe, play around with different styles.” She adds that it widens their horizons in terms of what is happening with design and style, exposing them to new, varied aesthetics.

Kansya

The Kolkata-based jewellery brand makes jewellery inspired by art and architecture. Their latest collection, Dramatic Frames, is inspired by Art Deco. “During the 1920s, new materials such as cement and metal had emerged as exterior décor in architecture,” says founder Radhika Kishorpuria. “Similarly, my collection presents hand-cut semi-precious stones such as rose quartz and smoky amber in unusual forms, like cubes and rectangles.” Each piece is hand-crafted using copper and brass, with a 22-karat rose gold plating.
