Having been thwarted at home during their first attempt to wrap up the NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors will take on Cleveland Cavaliers at Cleveland in Game 6. Huge performances from LeBron James and Kyrie Irving helped the Cavs force game 6 and they would have to put up an equally impressive performance if they are to level the series 3-3.

Sri Lanka face Ireland in two ODIs

Sri Lanka will take on the Republic of Ireland in two One Day Internationals at Dublin on Thursday and Saturday, ahead of their series against England.

Sri Lanka have made five changes to the squad that played the Test matches, bringing in players who have performed well in Sri Lanka’s List A competition.

Sanchez, Vargas shine as Chile progress to quarters

Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas scored two goals apiece as Chile defeated Panama 4-2 to ensure their passage into the quarterfinals of the Copa America Centenario.

Argentina, meanwhile, completed a regulation 3-0 win over Bolivia to keep their perfect record in Group D intact ahead of the quarters.

Brazil’s coach Dunga was sacked by their football confederation after their humiliating group stage exit from the tournament.

Klinsmann wants US to shed ‘underdog’ tag

US coach Jurgen Klinsmann wants his side to shed the underdog tag that they are associated with and instead go out and risk things as they prepare themselves for the Copa America Centenario quarterfinals against Ecuador on Thursday.

While the Americans were surprise toppers of their group, Ecuador come into the game hitting form at the right time.

Iceland hold Portugal; Hungary defeat Austria

The smallest country ever to play at a European Championship made their presence felt as they came from behind to hold Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal 1-1 in a Group F encounter.

In the other match from the same group, Hungary stunned Austria 2-0 to emerge as surprise toppers after the first round of fixtures.

Murray struggles past Mahut at Queen’s

While his reunion with Ivan Lendl has been a smooth transition, it wasn’t all smooth on the court as Andy Murry struggled past Nicolas Mahut at the Queen’s Club on Tuesday.

Looking to make it a record fifth title at the Queen’s, Murray was made to fight hard for his 7-6 (8), 7-6 (1) victory over the Frenchman.
