SSVM celebrates Vanmahotsav

Mettupalayam: The Vanmahostav festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SSVM school, Mettupalayam. Dr Manimekalai Mohan, Managing Trustee S Mohandoss, Trustee took part in the function.

Padmabhushan Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr M Balamuralikrishna was the Chief Guest. Shantha Kumari, Principal, welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest unveiled the screen for laying foundation stone for the “Dr Balamuralikrishna Auditorium”. He also distributed saplings to students to develop “My Kitchen Garden”.

Busy days at SSVM World School

Coimbatore: Carnatic Singer Dr.M. Balamuralikrishna inaugurated the Fine Arts Academy of SSVM World School at a function. Music will be taught through Skype by leading Carnatic musicians. Dr Balamuralikrishna addressed the gathering on different facets of Carnatic music.

Dr. P.T. Sudharshan Rao, Regional Director, CBSE, Chennai, the special guest of the event, inaugurated ‘The Green School’ Initiative. The Green School initiative aims at cultivating the habit of tree plantation where every child gets to plant a sapling in their kitchen garden.

Manimekalai, Managing trustee and Correspondent of SSVM, Santoshkanavalli, Principle of SSVM were also present at the function.

 Health session at Sivananda Balalaya

Tiruchi: A knowledge enhancement programme, 'Know Your Body’ was organised at Sri Sivananda Balalaya. It was an interactive session on the liver, by Dr Radha, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist. The student's queries on health and hygiene were clarified. The reason behind ailments in a human body, the cause of certain diseases and problems, and prevention methods to be followed as a precaution were analysed.

St Patrick’s Academy has eventful week

 Dindigul: The Investiture Ceremony of St. Patrick’s Academy was held on July 8. The School head boy and the head girl and the other office bearers participated in the oath taking ceremony, followed by the pinning up of the official badges, in the presence of the Chief guest Inspector of Police P. Jaya Chandran, Principal Bro. Ramesh Amalanathan.

The school also hosted its first inter-school football tournament, in which 12 schools participated. It was inaugurated by Shaktivel, Agaram Panchayat Leader, and the winner was NSVV School and the hosts secured the runners up title. s

Vaels International student council takes charge

 Chennai: An Investiture ceremony was held in the Vaels International School on July 11. The newly elected council members were assigned their posts & duties. Comdt.K.R.Arun, Executive Officer, Indian Coast Guard was the chief guest and distributed the leadership badges to the students. The Dean Venkatachalam gave the felicitations and congratulated the students.
