An educative trip for GT Aloha students
CHENNAI: Students of Class 8 of GT Aloha Vidhya Mandhir, Neelankarai went on a trip to the Central Institute of Brackist Water Aquaculture (CIBA) organised by the Muttukadu Experimental station of the Institute.
The trip, organised as part of the Institute’s Open Day, aimed at creating awareness among school children on how environmentally safe aquaculture was and its benefit to the nutritional food security of the public.
Students interacted with research scholars and scientists who demonstrated different activities in the field such as shrimp seed production in hatcheries and aqua feed production. Students were also taken on a trip to the beach to show how sea ranching (cultivation of marine organisms for food) was done.
Mary Ann celebrates 28th annual day
MADURAI: Mary Ann Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Madurai celebrated their 28th annual day in a grand function last week.
Dr. A.S.Dodd, Medical Superintendent, (Grace Kennet Foundation Hospital) Dr W. Isabel ,Vice Principal, Lady Doak College, Mrs. Hephzibah Thuruthy, Director of ‘In His Steps International’ were the guests of honour.
The event was marked with dance, drama and mime shows and prizes were given to students for excelling in academic and extra-curricular activities. Correspondent R. Jegina Jeyapaul honoured the parents of state and national award winners at the event.
Students turn coordinators at Sivananda Balalaya
TRICHY: Students of Class 9 of Sri Sivananda Balalaya, Trichy turned volunteers by conducting and co-ordinating competitions in a two-day event (April 9th and 10th) as part of Leo club celebrations.
The stint before the start of the new academic year included conducting elocution competitions in English and Tamil, Quiz, clay modelling and singing.
The event turned out to be a memorable and self-rewarding experience for the students.
Art fest at Vidhya Niketan!
COIMBATORE: Students of Vidhya Niketan Public School displayed their creative skills at ‘Srijan’ – an art exhibition conducted in their school on the 10th and 11th of April which had over 700 works of art and crafts on display.
School Correspondent Mrs.Rajini Krishnamurthy, who inaugurated the event was thrilled with the art work created by the students of the school which included Madhubani paintings, Gond art, soap carving, mosaic art, talking calligraphy, masks, shoe painting, jewellery and more.
