And when the entire world is trying to figure out whether Google can challenge Facebook's hegemony as the world's no.1 social network, guess who is topping Google Plus list of followers? According to Business Insider website, at the end of the first six days of Google Plus (as analysed on July 4), it was none other than Mark Zuckerberg. (More than 20,000 people had him in their circle.) But at the time of filing this report, that number had swelled close to 30,000. Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Bin were in the second and fourth positions, respectively. Zuckerberg, meanwhile, has texted a friend that he did not understand why people were surprised that he was on Google. His friend promptly informed his Google circles.
Obama to conduct Twitter Townhall meet
His flair for using social networks to reach out to his followers is well documented. U.S. President Barack Obama has set standards that his team only thinks of improving. Now, in another first, the White House organised a Twitter Townhall meet on July 6. The White House Blog asked U.S. citizens to pose questions to President Obama via the Twitter handle @townhall and adding the tag #AskObama. The President is to respond via a live event moderated by Jack Dorsey, Twitter co-founder and executive chairman.
