Photomath app has an interesting premise. It helps you with your math homework right from your smartphone. It makes it convenient to finish your homework by assisting you through a simple picture of the problem. The app also provides step-by-step instructions on how to solve a problem. This makes the app sound pretty nifty!

This app has a pretty straightforward setup. It has a very minimalist design that helps it to focus more on the functionality. This is a great feature in itself. Also, the app does not have a lot of bells and needless whistles that tend to get irksome over a period of time. It is quite easy to take pictures of your math problems. In fact, the app does not need you to actually take a picture. Once you present a math problem in a given field, the app scans it automatically and provides you with the solution and the steps involved in arriving at the solution. It takes out a rather tedious process and further streamlines an already streamlined process.

Although the app does pick up quite well and scans math problems automatically, the results tend to go amiss from time to time. It can give you different results for every time you scan a problem.

Photomath seems to have some difficulty in detecting every element of a math problem, and, in some cases, adds components that don’t even exist. These issues seem to crop up when you try to scan a math problem from a computer. This issue is less apparent when you scan the problems on paper. However, the app requires the paper to be printed as it does not support hand written problems. The app is still relatively new and it has a few bugs that need to be worked out.
