AN UNUSUAL LOVE STORY A still from "Udhayan"

The audio of Muthamizh Padaippagam's “Udhayan” was released recently. Produced by Prabhakaran, the film is directed by Chaplin, who has also written the story and the screenplay. Arulnidhi and Pranitha play the lead, with Santhanam, Banu, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sai Ravi, Manobala, Krishnamurthy and Sriranjani comprising the support cast. S. D. Vijay Milton has handled the camera, while Manikanthkadri has scored the music. The dialogues are written by Sivasurya and Manivelan. Kishore T.E. has taken care of the editing.

According to director Chaplin, “Udhayan” is a love story with a difference. “It's a story you don't often get to see on screen. It gives a new meaning to the phrase ‘love at first sight.' The film has all the ingredients to make it an entertainer. Two song sequences shot in Bangkok are a visual delight”.

There are eight songs in the album. The first one, ‘Yevan Ivan,' written by Surya and sung by Shruti Hassan, is good. ‘Ring Tink' is a beautiful song written by Muthamil and sung by Baba Sehgal and Suchitra. Karthik's solo number, ‘Ithanai Yugamai' written by Annamalai, is a pleasure to listen to. Next in the line-up is the lovely song, ‘Laka Laka', written by Yugabharathi and sung by Prasanna, Darshana and Karthik. The lyrics by Vaale for the title number ‘Udhayan,' sung by Manikanthkadri and Timmy Madhukar, are good. ‘Ponga Vechom', written by Yugabharathi and sung by Vivek Narayan and Divya, passes muster.
