I was going to get my board results. Yes, that's it. I heard my name. Before I could collect my report card, I was woken up by a loud sound. It was my alarm clock. When I finally managed to get up, I found my mom standing next to my bed. I could see a worried look on her face. “Go and see Mufasa,” she said.
Mufasa was one of the cats who visited my house regularly. I ran downstairs and found, to my horror, Mufasa's face was deformed. I couldn't make out where his eyes and nose were. His face was full of cuts. Not only that, he was also limping. I imagined Mufasa with his cute plump face and whiskers dripping with milk. He looked really cute. But, someone nearby had been merciless enough to deform his cute face. It's not only Mufasa, his fate is shared by many stray animals all around the world.
Cruelty towards animals
There are a number of reasons why such things happen. The first, I would say, is because of careless owners. A few people get so occupied in their work that they do not have the time to look after their pets and let them wander elsewhere. That's how at times cats and dogs enter someone else's house and get beaten up. The second reason is, though people know who has harmed their pet, they do not speak up. And the third is even though there are many animal shelters, people do not know how to contact them. There are still many people who do not know what ‘Blue Cross' is. I think the victims' owners must speak up if they know who the criminal is.
If we find any pet that has been lost, we must try to return it to its rightful owner. Once we bring a pet to our house, it becomes a part of our family and the grief of losing it is unbearable. Animals are surely intelligent and faithful creatures. May be now we are the highest level of organisms in the evolution cycle. But that doesn't mean that animals should be denied their rights. They too are rightful owners of this earth. So live and let live!
