Prayer for peace

‘Journey of a thousand miles start with a little step'! No doubt about it. Look at this ancient sloka .

Peace Sloka from Kathopanishad:

Om Sahana Bhavatu, Sahanao Bhunaktu/Sahaveeryam Karvaa vahai/Tejaswee Naava Dheeta Mastu Ma Vidvishaa vahai/Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Translation: May He protect all of us. May He nourish all of us. May we all acquire the capacity (to study and understand the scriptures). May our study be brilliant. May we not argue with each other. Peace, peace, peace.

This sloka seeks blessings for a conducive relationship, without which communication of any subject matter is difficult. Therefore, this prayer is important for all of us.

Now think of your own prayer of peace for our current world? Make it three to four lines and send it to youthforpeace10@gmail.com or aseema123@yahoo.com. All the prayers sent will be part of the installation in the “Peace and I” festival on January 28 and 29 (at Kalakshetra) and January 30 at Presidency College, Chennai, opposite Tilakar Thidal on the Marina Beach.
