His claim to fame may be that he is the son of Jumping Jack Jeetendra's son but this star kid is different. His debut was not a home production, he's had hardly any hits and is rarely followed by the paparazzi. But that has not stopped this young actor from going strong.

With over 20 films to his credit and a few more in his kitty, Tusshar Kapoor is all set to rock with “Golmaal 3”.An exclusive conversation with Tusshar Kapoor.

You've been around for about nine years now… Has it been easy for you being a star kid?

It's been a struggle. My first film did really well. But then I made some mistakes and had to learn from them. Learning what not to do and to do the right thing was an ongoing process. Learning to market yourself, creating a brand, took time. I learnt everything on the job. Only the first film, may be, is easy for a star kid after that it's your game.

You have been seen in many multi-starrers … any particular reason?

In the last few years, the movies offered to me and the ones I liked were all multi-starrers. The solo ones were not interesting. I am doing a couple of them now; but I had to wait for the right script.

I don't mind doing a multi-starrer as long as my character stands out and I gain from the film. “Khakhi” and “Golmaal” helped me, as the audience got to see me in a way they had not before.

What about your home productions? Are you always the first choice?

No, that's not true. They have done about 12 films and I have just done three. It's the call of the directors and producers; depends on whom they want. As a production house we remain non -interfering. The personal and professional relationship between my sister and me are kept separate. Also of all the films offered to me I do have a right to say no.

Any plans to enter television?

I would love to be on television. But I don't think I would act in soaps as they are time consuming. I don't believe doing two things at a time.

You need a lot of time for films and that's not something I have. I don't mind doing television temporarily like hosting a game show or a reality show or a talk show. That would be interesting.

Your forthcoming films…

“Golmaal 3”, “Love you Mr. Kalakaar”, “Shor” and “Hum Tum aur Shabana”.

Would you like to diversify? Or are you happy with being an actor. ..

Yes, I would love to produce films. I don't see myself directing though. Even though the constraints of time have kept me away from being active in my sister's production house I would like to start doing so in a while.

You seem to be stuck doing comedy… is it because of the comfort level or a choice?

Yes, I do love comedy but it's not that I don't want to do other genres. “Shootout at Lokhandwala” and “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai”, were not comedy. And I was comfortable doing them. I would love to try other roles especially a romantic role.

What's it like to work with your sister?

I love working with her. Though I hardly get to see her while doing a film I know I can rely on her judgment to choose the best team. Also her teams are very young and peppy. Even when she joins at the promotional stages she involves herself completely and does everything with a passion.

Your fitness mantra…

I have a personal trainer Pramod and he is my fitness mantra. I do everything according to what he says. He makes me workout five times a week on different parts of my body using weights. The other two days I just do yoga, play squash, jog to keep my mind fresh.
