With the summer sun glaring on our heads, even a drop of water becomes dear to us. We find relief staying indoors and the summer coolants prove to be manna. But what about the mute animals out on the streets desperately seeking shelter from the harsh rays and looking for some drinking water to quench their thirst? Should they walk into a super market and buy a bottle of mineral water or walk into a cafe and order for ice cold lemonade? The NGO Caring Hands for Animals (CHFA) volunteers appeal to the denizens of the city to place a drinking water trough for those animals to protect them for the soaring heat.

The volunteers of the organisation have already begun their campaign by filling up of cement water troughs at strategic locations. They plan on visiting schools and police stations to raise awareness about their campaigns. Placing a bowl of water in balconies, roof tops and outside the gates of the houses and at street corners will go a long way in providing the hapless animals and birds to survive the summer.
