The bunch of young enthusiasts watched keenly as hairstyle experts demonstrated the hottest hair dos. Barely had the hairdresser finished his job and the curious girls began to shoot queries on hairstyles, cuts and colours that are hot right now. They wanted to know all about the best hairstyles, whether it had been embellished, slicked back, pulled high and tight or worn down in loose waves.

“I want to grow my bobs and lobs because long hair seems to be back and it’s cooler than ever,” chirped one of the girls.

The demo-cum-workshop in the auditorium of a star hotel was a first of its kind in the city on trendy hair dos put together by Pooja Sharan Maini, who has many more interesting events lined up for the city youth in the days to come.

Collaborating with the local chapter of Toni & Guy, Pooja managed to pool up a good number of young enthusiastic youngsters eager to learn and excel in fashion trends.

Pooja is someone pleasant to be around, easy to get along with; excited about life and doesn’t wait for an occasion to smile and whistle a happy tune. “This is how I want people around me to be,” says the 26-year-old who recently migrated to this city after marrying a local businessman.

Born and raised in Hyderabad, Pooja pursued engineering course and followed it up with a degree in MBA. “After that I was sitting idle without a clue on how to use free time. I joined a club and liked everything about it. Girls would dress up really well, click pictures and feast on loads of fun. I gradually opened up and began to socialise,” she says.

Eager to float her own club, Pooja floated Stylish Divas. “Since I started knowing people around, I started organising events like workshops, theme parties and fashion shows. Now that I have shifted here, I have established a similar club but have retained the old name,” she says, adding that the basic idea is to goad youngsters to come out of their shells and enjoy the journey of life.

The city does not have a night life or a club to socialise. “Stylish Diva is exclusively for youngsters, for those below 30 years but the events we plan to organise at regular intervals will be open for participation for all age groups,” she clarifies. Pooja has tossed the idea to a few youngsters and they are all gung-ho about it.

“The response is overwhelming. They seem to be waiting eagerly for something of this sort to happen. I want people who are young at heart, interested in meeting new people and explore the journey of life to hop on to the happy-go-skippy bandwagon.”

Dandiya Raas

--> Pooja’s next big event is a grand dandiya raas slated for October 17 at Kay Hotel on Eluru Road.

--> Entry ticket is for Rs. 500.

--> Registrations are also open for those seeking membership of the club.

--> Those interested in enrolling may log on to stylishdivas.co.
