So you are a bookworm who has outgrown your precious collection of comics, fairytales and Enid Blytons. You must have been saving all those books from your mother who has been threatening to sell them to your friendly neighbourhood raddiwallah. Help is at hand if you have been searching for a warm and friendly house for your old books. Priyanka Vasudevan and her friends are beginning a local chapter of Storyline in your city.
“Storytime is a network of youngsters, who aim at building libraries and spread the joy of reading in under-resourced schools, mostly in the primary level. We conduct book drives and awareness programs to accomplish this goal. We are collaborating with Tejas, an outlet for accessories as a first step,” she explains.
Tejas, located in Chalakuzhi lane, will be a ‘book drop stop’ from 11 a.m. onwards on Saturday, June 20. Book donors will get a discount of 15 per cent on all purchases from Tejas. Discount for donors will go on till June 30, adds Priyanaka, whose mother Saraswathy Vasudevan, runs Tejas.
As part of the inauguration, educationists, writers, teachers and so on will gather at the store. Some of the founding members of Storyline from Kochi will be present.
