Director Mallikarjun is set to wrap up the shoot for his film Sher . This is his fourth film and a third one with Kalyan Ram, the last film being Katthi .
Action entertainer
“ Sher is an action entertainer that is weaved with lot of emotions. I am under no pressure but I am aware and a bit conscious that the previous film of Kalyan Ram, Pataas was a hit and I had worked towards taking it to a next level. Producer Komaram Venkatesh had supported me throughout the process,” says Mallikarjun.
He adds, “The time that is spent before the hunt is what Sher is about. The hero is a civil engineer. There is a love story too. Most of the shoot has been done in Hyderabad and only the songs have been shot in Bangkok. Sonal Chauhan is a fashion photographer and is an asset to the film, she is just not glamorous but has a crucial role to play in the story.”
Elaborates Mallikarjun, “Mukesh Rishi is a mafia don based in Kolkotta — Posani Krishna Murali and Ashish Vidyarthi are his companions. There is a local don and a fracas that happens between him and the hero takes the story forward. At this point of time Mukesh Rishi enters the scene and the connection between Mukesh Rishi and Kalyan Ram is revealed.”
There have been many titles like ‘Tiger’, ‘Simham’, ‘Puli’, why did the director choose something that is so common? “ Sher just happened and there was no deep meaning to it but there will be no bombastic dialogues associated with Nandamuri heroes films and nothing that is out of context. Pataas had the character designed on a mass level. Sher has been scripted on a stylised level. For instance, a small villain comes into the scene and is stopped by the hero. When he asks him who he is, the hero retorts, Simhalani Tsunamilani choosinappudu who are you, how are you ani adakkoodadhu. Paripovalanthe! There will be many such dialogues that will entertain the audience thoroughly. Kalyan Ram’s name is Gautham and so is Brahmanandam’s, however there will be no confusion. The movie will be out in this next two weeks,” concludes Mallikarjun.’
