In what is a rare honour for a Hyderabadi, D. V. Manohar Chairman of Hyderabad Bicycling Club and Board Member of World Cycling Alliance (WCA) which is the apex body for cycling in the world, will address the World Cycling Conference at Velo City in France (June 2 to 5).

Manohar has also been given the honour of addressing the plenary session wherein some eminent speakers including Dominque Lebrun, Ministry of Ecology, and Energy, France, Conny Bieze, Regional Minister, Netherlands, Andre Dzikus, UNO, Johanna Rolland, Mayor of Nantes, Chou Li Fang, Deputy Mayor of Taipei (Taiwan) and Manfred Neun, President of World Cycling Alliance are expected to address the gathering of about 1200 delegates from all over the world.

One of the highlights of the trip for the genteel Hyderabadi is the special TV show 'Bicycle with pride of place in housing and public space" at the Velo City to be telecast live by the French TV.

He will also speak on behalf of the WCA, committing its support to Cities, States/Regions and Countries to promote cycling and also announce some prestigious voluntary commitments to the UN.

Under the stewardship of Manohar, Hyderabad Bicycling Club has been making a huge impact to emerge as the largest cycling club online overtaking Denver Cycling Club (USA).

And, importantly, he leads from the front in his campaigns having cycling his way from London to Paris twice.
