Director Radhakrishnan Parthepan is busy giving final touches to his Kadhai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam. The lead roles in this film are being played by seven newcomers (Santhosh, Vijairam, Dinesh, Lallu, Akila, Mahalakshmi and Sakithya) and it also features popular names such as Arya, Vishal, Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash Raj, Cheran, Amala Paul and Taapsee. However, Parthepan, himself a well-known actor, has no role to play in his own project! “When so many artists have acted in my film, what’s the need for me to do a role,” he asks, and adds, “I’m grateful to all my actor friends who’ve appeared in cameos in it.” Currently, Parthepan is racing against time to finish the film so that it can be released soon. For one special song, he has roped in actors such as Bharath and Shantanoo to dance. “This is perhaps the first time a film is made without a story,” he says jocularly.
Actor Chandra Haasan, brother of Kamal Haasan, gets nostalgic when he talks about his Alwarpet residence, even today. For, it has been the same place he stayed way back in 1957! “I came to Madras to study law but didn’t have a place to stay. My father’s friend, producer Chokkalingam Chettiar of Parasakthi Pictures, asked me to take care of the administrative work of his production company from this place in Alwarpet. I was happy as I had a place to live and work. Much later, when my brother (Kamal Haasan) shifted to this place and came to know about this, he asked me to take care of his production too from this very place!” Chandra Haasan has acted in just five films so far - Gramathu Athiyayam, Indira, Hey Ram (He acted as Kamal’s son), Raja Parvai (He acted as Kamal’s father and this is the only film all three brothers, Charuhasan, Chandra Haasan and Kamal Haasan have acted together) and Thalaimagan
