Always wanted to pick up some unique designs from a little-known designer but didn’t know where to look? With Red Polka, it might have just gotten a little easier. The online product discovery platform brings together creations from over 200 designers under one umbrella.

According to Vishakha Singh, founder of Red Polka, they feature designers that are unique and waiting to be discovered.

To make the shopping experience more personal, Red Polka is conducting its first fashion exhibition in Chennai this weekend. With over 20 designers from across the country, the exhibition, says Vishakha, “is really a touch point so shoppers can experience designs and buy them accordingly.

We’re going to showcase curated designers. The aim is to give shoppers confidence in the products when they see and touch them, before deciding to buy, which online shopping doesn’t always provide.”

While Red Polka was launched in January 2015, it was only earlier this year that they decided to go offline with exhibitions. So far, they’ve held four events in Mumbai and this, their fifth show, is the first outside of Mumbai. They plan to head to Ahmedabad next.

“The exhibition affords shoppers the luxury of personal interaction with the designers and also gives them the option to get the designer to customise outfits.”

The exhibition will feature clothes, accessories, jewellery, bags and clutches and home décor products, along with kids wear for children up to the age of eight.

“I’d say that we cater to women over the age of 23 from all walks of life — working professionals, homemakers, young mums or entrepreneurs,” says Vishakha.

With designs in mul, cotton and linen, the exhibition has something for everyone. And as Vishakha puts it, it is all about affordable fashion that is unique. “Attainable fashion is what I call it,” she says.

The Red Polka Show will be held at Amethyst on August 7 from 11 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
