The world is not going in the right direction, as mankind gets on the highway to development. Money has become a chief governing factor in the world. The misuse of money by a small section of the population has resulted in a global recession, from which the planet is still on the path to recovery. Also, a few people and countries alike claim to be both rich and poor. How? For example, Dubai, was supposed to be bankrupt, facing the effects of the recession. But the world's most expensive New Year party was organised in Dubai. If the same had happened in India, there would have been a national uproar.
The past few years have seen many pandemics, each outbreak deadlier than the earlier one.
Wars and weapons have also seen a great deal of advancement. As country after country indulges in acts of warfare often using innocent civilians as guinea pigs, the spectre of another global conflict looms large, with the environmental costs of any such war being terrible.
Well after the first decade of the 21st century has passed, do we hope for things to get better…or fear the worse? Let's wait and watch.
