Grilled chicken roasted corn pepper relish at AUMA

There’s a lot going on in the plush DLF Emporio Mall, New Delhi and quite a bit of the action is at AUMA, Spread over 4,200 sq feet in the plush mall. The menu is simple, non-complicated with choices ranging from European, Italian and Thai cuisine. The interiors are clutter-free with a brown and orange décor that goes well with its open kitchen and bar. If you want to keep an eye on the activity in the mall, go for the tables in the corridor outside the restaurant.

For lunch or dinner, choose from Chef Bhagirath’s array of salads, pastas and risottos, and finish with chef Rohan’s delicious cheese cake and ice creams. Don’t miss the Philadelphia Chili Cheesecake or the Chicken liver parfait or raw papaya salad. Those lugging kids along have several child-friendly options like pizzas, sandwiches and spaghetti.

Those in a mood for Thai food, do no miss Chef Kroongtana ‘Chang’ Nimnu’s signature dishes: Bai Kraphow and Thai Yam Makrua Yao.

Those who find themselves at AUMA in the mid-afternoon can relax over high tea with moist fluffy scones, a delectable selection of sandwiches and bruschetta (smoked salmon, peanut and smoked mozzarella, smoked turkey, corn and sun-dried tomato), sinfully indulgent cakes (caramel macaroons, marvel cake, wild berry crumble and pineapple upside cake), and an endless choice of teas in the uber luxurious surroundings. Whether it’s a date, a night out with friends, lunch with the kids, or a serious business meeting, Auma fits the bill.

Bottomline: Great food in a cosy stylish décor, but service needs to improve.
