I read The Hindu every day. I used to read only the sports page, but now I have started reading other news also. The piece written on Nelson Mandela was inspiring, especially for the younger generation.
Ending apartheid in his home country, South Africa through peaceful means is the greatest achievement of this iconic revolutionary. He deserves to be called his country’s moral compass. In Cartoonscape, dated December 7, 2013, the drawing of Mahatma Gandhi at the memorial site gesturing the late leader to, perhaps join him and stay alongside to share the honour of being selfless peace loving leaders is moving. I wish a lesson on the life and works of Nelson Mandela will find a place in our school curriculum so that children can learn and benefit from the life of great leaders like Mandela.
