About 500 kids from various parts of the city assembled to participate in Kolor Champ - a painting contest with a message, which was organised by Global Art. The participants hailed from 15 centers of the art academy and were in the age group up to 15 years.

The theme of the competition “Good Health for a Better World.” Sacheth Reddy, a Std. IX student of Bhavan's Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, said. “The topics were vast, hence researching and deciding on what I wanted to put in my painting was a little difficult. It was definitely a learning experience.”

Plan out

A well-researched understanding of the topic by the participants was evident in the paintings submitted by them.

Paintings carried elements that stood for good health like yoga, kids exercising or skipping and cycling and planting trees. Fruits and vegetables were seen in most of the paintings.

Anushka Shah, a Std. III student from Nasr School said, “I was given a drawing where there were two boys and a girl playing.

I added mountains and a bowl full of healthy food like fruits and vegetables. I also drew a running carrot and bunny peeping out of the bushes.”

Each category had three prizes – a Champion, Best of the Best and a first runner -up.

The champions for the day were Amita Sana (Group D – Std. VIII student of Pallavi Model School), L .Hrithika (Group C – Std. VI, St.Ann's School), Shruthi (Group B, Std. III, Delhi Public School, Nacharam) and Mahati (Group A – PP2 Geetanjali Devashray).
