Brizzly Bear was upset. His favourite comb was missing. He wanted to smoothen his fur but alas, he could not find his comb. This green coloured comb was gifted to him by his grandmother when he turned three. He remembered how happy he had been to receive it. Every day, he used it to comb his silky fur and it used to shine after it had been combed. Now he had lost it and he was feeling terribly sad.
He searched his whole house — the bathroom, dressing room, wardrobe and even the kitchen. But the wonderful comb was not to be seen. Poor bear! He felt like crying.
Unhappy
Just then somebody rang the bell. Brizzly Bear was in no mood to receive visitors. So he just did not open the door. But the bell rang again.
Someone called out to him, “Brizzly Bear, are you there?”.
It was Hoppy Rabbit, Brizzly Bear’s best friend.
Brizzly Bear slowly opened the door.
“Hi Brizzly Bear, I thought you were not in,” said Hoppy Rabbit. He saw Brizzly Bear’s gloomy face and asked him “What happened Brizzly Bear? Why are you sad?”
“I lost my comb. It was my favourite,” said Brizzly Bear. Hoppy Rabbit’s eyes twinkled.
Now Hoppy Rabbit was one of the cleverest rabbits around. All his friends always turned to him for help. He was kind too. He could never bear to see his friends sad. So he was ready with his help, though, at times he liked to have some fun too.
Seeing his friend’s unhappy face, Hoppy Rabbit jumped into action. He looked around the house. Then he saw Brizzly Bear’s wet hair. He asked, “Tell me Brizzly Bear, did you have a bath today?”.
“Yes, a while ago,” replied Brizzly Bear,
Hoppy Rabbit went into the bathroom and looked around. “Did you try to comb your fur after your bath?” he enquired.
“Yes. When I was done with my bath I began to comb my fur. I liked to comb my fur while it is still wet.”
Looking at his ruffled fur, Hoppy Rabbit said, “But you were interrupted then?”
“Yes, I got a call from my mother,” said Brizzly Bear wondering how Hoppy Rabbit knew. “After speaking to her, I went back to comb my hair but I couldn’t find it,” he added.
Looking at the mess around the house, Hoppy Rabbit asked. “So you searched the whole house?”
“Yes and I couldn’t find it anywhere,” said Brizzly Bear feeling miserable.
Hoppy Rabbit smiled and said, “Well, how can you find it elsewhere when it is still stuck to your back?”
Brizzly Bear turned his back to look in the mirror. He was surprised to find the beautiful comb stuck to his wet fur. Brizzly Bear beamed with joy.
