Stop! Take a walk down memory lane… Memories sweeping over you? Yearning for times past and wishing things hadn’t changed? Well, well, you are feeling nostalgic!

Memories

When you feel nostalgic, you are thinking of the past and feeling happy or sad about it. It is a wistful memory of the past that now seem better or simpler. If you have changed schools and are looking at your old school photographs, it could make you nostalgic. Your dad would feel a wave of nostalgia sweep over him, when he looks back on his university days. Some songs can make you nostalgic too and when you listen to them, you will sort of relive those moments all over again.

The term nostalgia in the late 18th Century meant severe homesickness and was considered a disease.

So when you hear your grand dad narrate stories of his youthful days, you could point out to him that he is overcome with acute nostalgia!
