Every human being in the world has a God-shaped void within and hence craves for that unconditional love which can be filled only by the Agape love of God, declares Bro.Prabu in his debut Tamil Christian worship album titled Agape .” It is the highest of the four types of love -- philia, eros, storge and agape. Agape is Greek for God's unconditional love.
Prabu is a worship minister in a church in Minnesota, Minneapolis. A business consultant, Prabu and his friend Josiah Heflin composed music on Skype and over phone with the former in the U.S. writing and singing in his home studio, Alabaster Box, and Heflin in Italy arranging the music.
Most of the songs in this CD are Prabu's compositions though a couple of well-known numbers such as ‘Enniladanga Sthothiram’ too find place here.
Back-up vocals by famous tenor
The opening track, ‘Mannil Vandha Devan’ is upbeat and gives an excellent start to the album. ‘Sarva Vallavar, Saavai Vendravar, Vallamai Niraindavar’ thus go the telling lyrics. The multi-track backing vocals by the famous tenor, Samcy Phillip, enhances the appeal of the melodies enormously.
The second song, ‘Deva Anbai’, has a memorable melody and in Alleluia, the chorus is peppy. Soulful rendition marks ‘Kanmani Pola,’ though a hint of Indian percussion sounds might have added colour, one felt. There's a repeat of the opener, ‘Mannil Vandha’, and this time, it’s a rock version.
The cry from the heart of the anguished distinguishes ‘Nesikkiraen.’ To the desperate man is introduced the love and life of Christ. There is a short exhortation at the end to lead a triumphant life followed by a deeply moving prayer by Prabu.
Born into a Hindu family, Prabu says he craved for Truth and Love when the grace of Jesus drew him to taste His unfailing love.
The album is a product of Agape of Christ Ministries and released by Blessing Voice, Chennai. Presented by Music Minds, it is priced at Rs. 75. For details, call 94435 42714 or Email:reachprabu@hotmail.com
