The vocal concert by ‘Priya Sisters' came as a feast for classical music lovers, who sat glued to their seats till the end. Ramachandra Pushkarini' , the open-air hall developed on the landscaped park around the renovated temple tank emerged a new venue for musical concerts in the city.
It was thrown open during the recently-concluded annual Brahmotsavams of TTD's Sri Kodandarama temple.
It was for the first time that the TTD had arranged a music concert of such a scale to coincide with the annual festival, thanks to which the who's who of the music industry descended on the temple city.
Shanmukhapriya and Haripriya rendered mellifluous kirtanas , mostly on Lord Srirama, such as Ramachandrudu naapai chalamu jesinadu' in rRaga Adhaveri , Abba Ramabhakti entho goppadira' in rRaga Panthuvarali, Seethamma maayamma' in rRaga Vasantha and Anthayu neeve Hari pundareekaksha' in rRaga Hindolam mesmerised the audience. Krishnaswamy on violin, Skanda Subrahmanyam on mridangam and Purushotham on kanjira provided effective accompaniment.
TTD's executive officer LV Subrahmanyam and joint EO P.Venkatrami Reddy presented the temple ‘Prasadam' to the sisters.
